چکیده

Abstract Frequent changes in customer needs and large product variety are forcing manufacturing companies to move from mass production customization. Customized can be achieved by introducing reconfigurable systems (RMS). The customized flexibility several characteristics of RMSs provide many opportunities terms process planning. However, those greatly increase the complexity design planning systems. This paper presents a decision support system relying on skill-based approach assembly line considering processes monitoring. proposed aid is modular composed four modules. main input data CAD model new variant for identification monitoring requirements. Besides, current layout with its resource descriptions exists. In first developed module, assembly-by-disassembly used generate different plans. second feature recognition approaches alternatives. third module uses linear program (LP) that aims minimize total cost workstation activation reconfiguration, as well cycle time, maximize quality tasks. A user-based generative applied optimize values three objective functions. fourth final simulation optimized plan allows either validation or initiates iteration due their infeasibility. To further demonstrate how methodology works, some computational experiments provided two use cases.

A feature-less approach to process planning

Feature-driven CAPP is the dominant model for Computer-Aided Process Planning today. Despite more than a decade of effort, there are no general methods for defining or identifying features, and consequently CAPP approaches in full generality could not been developed. An alternate to feature-driven CAPP is direct tool access-based models for process planning, which rely on the fundamental geomet...

Feature-Based Process Planning in the AMRF

The growing use of "features" in the design and manufacturing communities is due to the fact that features better capture the functionality or intent associated with a part design. The process planning team at the National Bureau of Standards is using features and their associated functionality to derive process plans from a part model in a semi-automatic fashion. The process planning team beli...

A Group Theoretic Approach to Assembly Planning

high-level robotic assembly planning. An assembly is a collection of bodies that are spatially related. When two bodies in an assembly are related, they do not make contact over their whole surface; rather, features of each body are in contact. For the moment, let us think of a feature as some part of the surface of a body. Thus, for example, a journal on a shaft fits a bearing, the teeth of ge...

A collaborative approach to assembly sequence planning

Distributed product development requires collaborative work among team members. For the sake of supporting assembly planning activities involving geographically dispersed designers, this paper presents an approach of collaborative assembly sequence planning to validate the assemblability of parts and subassemblies rapidly. In order to increase the planning efficiency and support the collaborati...

A knowledge-based approach to assembly sequence planning

Assembly planning plays a major role in the manufacturing industry. In order to reduce computational complexity, this paper presents a knowledge-based approach to the assembly sequence planning problem. The CSBAT (connection-semantics-based assembly tree) hierarchy proposed in this paper provides an appropriate way to consider both geometric information and non-geometric knowledge. In this rese...
